Caring and Professional Service since 1954
WELCOME TO LAWNWOOD MEMORIAL PARK
Lawnwood Memorial Park was started in 1954 by Lewis D. Caldwell and Samuel G. Cowan. The original purchase was only a small number of acres, but over the last few decades has expanded to a little over 60 acres. Lawnwood has continued to offer a peaceful and caring place to serve as the final resting place for the loved ones of four generations.
A perpetual care cemetery, organized under the law and guidelines of the Secretary of the State of Georgia, Lawnwood Memorial Park provides rolling hills of green lawn that are kept neatly manicured year round. Our flat bronze gardens, and newly developed upright bronze and granite gardens, provide families options to satisfy most requests.
Annual Luminaria Service
We will be making the switch from real candles to battery powered tea lights due to increased fire risk due to the number of lit candles we normally have displayed. Tea lights and cups will be available at Lawnwood beginning at 12:00 Noon, Saturday, December 5, 2020, and will remain available until 5:00 pm.
Since we are using battery powered tea lights, we ask that you turn on your tea lights when you place them on your loved one’s burial site. By using battery powered tea lights, we will be able to insure this year’s event will continue rain or shine.
Our staff WILL NOT be turning tea lights on. We encourage you to come by early to receive and place your candles. In all instances, there will be a limit of ten (10) candles per family, to be certain that every family is able to receive candles.
We will also not be accepting donations this year due to COVID-19 restrictions. However, we do encourage you to support our selected charities by contacting them directly and donating. This year we are urging support for Project ReNewal (contact Julie White at firstname.lastname@example.org) and Newton Pregnancy Resource Center (contact Rachel Long at

HAVE THE TALK OF A LIFETIME
Through meaningful memorialization – that is, taking time to reflect on the unique life of a loved one and remember the difference they made – families and friends take an important step in the journey toward healing after death.
WINTER IS HERE
... but mowing season never stops. Our goal is to insure that all of our grounds are kept clean, neat and fully serviceable for your family year round. However, due to the holiday season we do allow grace with the placement of items on or around your loved one's marker. Remember, Lawnwood is not responsible for items left on or around the marker, and/or items that fall from the vase during this time. Items may be removed from the marker for the safety of visitors and staff. All items removed will be held for no more than 30 calendar days from the date they were removed.
